About the F.O.F.

In an effort to educate people about the American Flag, along with its rules and customs, the Fix Our Flag campaign is non-profit.

The campaign is a group of volunteers who feel strongly about our Flag and how it should be treated. Our effort starts by addressing the biggest problem first, the backward flag. We will also engage in public outreach to schools throughout the country in an effort to help our kids understand the American Flag and what it represents. Additionally our efforts will focus on the general public and their interactions with the Flag.

We spoke with all of the Presidential Candidates who campaigned for the 2008 election. Our new President, Barack Obama, now has authority over the American Flag. As President, he should know and understand the manner in which the American Flag should be seen and treated. In the event he does not, it will be our job to educate him on this issue.

If you would like to get involved with the campaign and help coordinate the outreach effort in your state, please don't hesitate to contact our national director Phil Greazzo at the address on the bottom of the page or by email; phil@fixourflag.org.

Why the F.O.F. is being sounded ...

A few years ago I noticed our Flag was backward on the U.S. Army uniform. At first, I wasn't sure if it was just a reverse image displayed on the screen. However, after seeing it again and again in other news casts it was clearly not a backward image but a backward Flag.

The Flag should never be displayed this way on its own. Of all places for this abomination to be, not on some protesters little home-made cardboard sign, on the uniform of the men and women who swore to protect and defend the United States of America.

I've waited for the problem to correct itself, but it hasn't. It’s only getting worse and growing like a cancer. Police and fire departments are now starting to incorporate this “backward” flag on their uniforms. The other day, I found a security guard displaying the Flag backward on his uniform. At a social event I saw someone with the backward flag on their jacket. When asked why, each responded because it’s how the military have it and one thought as long as the blue field was close to the heart it was alright.

I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
